Penrhyn House is a well-known, well-located 1980’s office complex located close to the heart of Woden Town Centre. It is substantial in size comprising three linked buildings with large floor plates ideal for flexible modern office accommodation, however it had suffered from high vacancy rates for many years as new, purpose designed and highly energy efficient buildings have been constructed nearby. Property trust Quintessential Equities (QE) purchased the building to bring it up to modern standards for such accommodation.

New entry foyers, an improved shop front appearance, the installation of end of trip facilities are key features of the refurbishment along with the installation of new hard and soft landscaping immediately adjacent to the main entry areas. Improving the pedestrian entry arrangement to each of the three buildings including access ramps, clearer signage and weather protection have all helped the building address while new colour theming has enlivened what was a bland non-descript building. Between this and the recent adjacent Abode the Apartment Hotel projects, AMC has made its mark on Bowes Street through considered design improving this once unloved part of Woden Town Centre.
