Client: Vikings Group
AMC has continued its ongoing strategic role with the Vikings Club with the recent upgrade to their Sports Bar, TAB and Administration area at Erindale, being the second refurbishment of 4 clubs for the Vikings Group in Tuggeranong Valley. The aspiration for the project was that the refurbished club be appealing to a much broader demographic of users and that it once again become a destination venue for younger patrons. It was constructed in 2 stages with the first focused on the incorporation of the Vikings Group Administration into an underutilised space to maximise usable office space and create a more efficient and effective work environment.
Stage 2 focused on improving the look and feel of the existing Sports Bar / TAB while maintaining much of the existing structure to achieve a value for money solution. Key considerations were a better connection between the Sports Bar and TAB, whilst maintaining an appropriate level of privacy. The removal of large sections of the dividing structural walls within the 2 existing bars, while complicated, was important in creating an open feel and better connection between the two areas.
The refurbishment consisted of new soft finishes, timber cladding, feature brick walls and new furniture all of which included an exciting new, warmer colour palette. Feature fibre rope partitions and joinery banquette seating areas were designed to create comfortable and discrete seating zones. Existing ceilings were retained and repainted with minor modifications to improve ceiling heights in targeted area with new feature pendant lighting suspended to enhance the atmosphere and warmth of the space.
As a result of the new Sports Bar / TAB, the Vikings Group is very pleased to have attracted new members whilst maintaining existing patrons through a staged construction process.
