The new Brindabella Business Park Wellness Hub for Canberra Airport is currently under construction and is progressing well! This new iconic facility will provide a large, well-equipped gym, café and End of Trip facilities for Brindabella Business Park users as well as pedestrian links to the adjacent carpark. The AMC team developed a distinctive sculptural form that will set it apart within the BBP precinct and as a destination in its own right. Completion is expected in early 2020!
Documentation for the Denman Prospect Community & Child Care Centre is in progress and approaching an important milestone for the project. The Centre will form part of Capital Estate Development’s exciting new Denman Village precinct, a project in which AMC has continued to play a key role, designing and delivering the local centre mixed-use development in late 2018. Contrasting materials and geometric forms create a striking built form that takes its cue from the surrounding context. The Centre will accommodate a childcare centre at ground level with a community centre above, both of which will benefit from expansive views and excellent solar orientation to create light-filled internal areas and dynamic external gathering spaces.
Congratulations to the design team on a wonderful concept, we eagerly anticipate the next stage of this exciting project!
AMC is excited to announce that The Central @ Crace by Goodwin has been nominated as a finalist in the National Retirement Living Awards for 2019! The Central has been recognised as an innovative new approach to seniors housing and recently won the 2019 Rider Levett Bucknall ACT Property Development of the Year Award.
Stage 1 of the Goodwin Farrer Redevelopment was completed recently with the brand new Clubhouse now open for business!
The Clubhouse is distinguished from the rest of the development by its exposed structural elements revealed the light-filled double-height spaces of the new social hub for the Goodwin Farrer community. Inside, the Clubhouse a serene material and colour palette of blonde timbers and dark tiled surfaces set against the natural tones of soft furnishings and acoustic wall panels creates a relaxing and restful environment. An open fire place with full height log wall is a key feature of the Clubhouse, enhancing the spacious and light-filled atrium that promises to be a popular social hub for the residents.
Zenith recently published a profile of the Clubhouse featuring a number of furniture items that are ideal for this setting without compromising on style and elegance. Click here to check out the case study.
AMC is thrilled to announce the opening of our brand new premises. Come and visit us at our exciting light-filled studio located at Suite 1.01, Level 1, 10 Hobart Place, Canberra City (just upstairs from our previous location on the ground floor).
AMC is delighted to announce that our team was awarded a Commendation for Interior Architecture for the Denman Village Supermarket at last night’s 2019 AIA ACT Chapter Awards. This significant achievement reflects the outstanding efforts of AMC’s interior design team and the vision of Capital Estate Developments for the Denman Prospect Local Centre. Denman Village challenges the traditional Canberra local centre paradigm, successfully integrating residential apartments and townhouses with retail, hospitality, health and commercial offerings within a bustling precinct enhanced by landscape and sculptural elements.
The world-class IGA supermarket anchors the mixed-use precinct and has become a shopping destination within its own right. At 1,000m2 the supermarket offers unique, exceptional fresh produce to the Molonglo Valley within an inviting and high-quality setting. The supermarket’s inviting and voluminous entry foyer addresses a central pedestrian plaza, augmented by a feature glazed stairwell / lift volume which connects the retail precinct to the townhouses on the upper level podium.
Congratulations team and to all the other award winners and participants on the night!

AMC is excited that The Central by Goodwin has won the 2019 Rider Levett Bucknall ACT Property Development of the Year Award at the PCA’S “Roman Empire” themed ACT Awards night on Friday! This high quality retirement living development, designed by AMC, has been recognised as an innovative new approach to seniors housing that successfully integrates a new community into the heart of Crace, offering residents a range of housing choices and, unlike many such developments, their own front door. As a mixed-use precinct, it is effectively an extension of the Crace village centre and includes a sophisticated central urban landscaped area. This is the second time Goodwin has won this award, again supported by AMC, and the development is now a strong candidate for the Aurex Group Award for Best Retirement Living Development at the National PCA Awards night later this month. We wish Goodwin the best of luck!
Congratulations to all involved and to the other industry winners on the night.

A striking contemporary sculpture has recently been installed at AMC’s Denman Village Shops development. ANU Fine Arts student, Naomi Taylor Royd, won a competition run by Capital Estates with her Eucalyptus Triad sculpture, “inspired by the simple organic shapes of native eucalyptus trees”. The artwork consists of three 6m high curvilinear steel elements painted a bold red which are now installed in the main forecourt of the retail precinct. The sculpture is the latest addition to the recently completed development designed by AMC and complements the bold curves and natural materials palette which also take their cue from the natural surroundings and features of the Molonglo Valley. Read more about the sculpture here.
AMC was pleased to again work with Visit Canberra to deliver their new information booth within Canberra International Airport. Building upon the success of the Canberra & Region Visitors Centre at Regatta Point, opened in 2016, AMC was engaged to design the new booth which provides visitors with convenient access to information about what to see and do in Canberra via self-service touchscreen portals, brochures or with a friendly Visit Canberra staff member. The booth is located in the Arrivals area and operates 24 hours a day. More info can be found here.
