About the Project

Client: Visit Canberra
Size: 30m²
Cost: $85k

Building upon the success of the Canberra & Region Visitors Centre fitout within the National Capital Exhibition Centre at Regatta Point, which was officially opened in 2016, AMC was engaged to design a new information booth within Canberra International Airport.  The new booth takes its cue from the Regatta Point Visitors Centre fitout in terms of materials, finishes and the seamless integration of sophisticated audio visual technology providing users with a range of media to access information about what to see and do in Canberra.

Self-service touchscreen portals, brochures and a customer service desk are all provided within an inviting and welcoming space that is open 24 hours a day.  The kiosk features timber flooring and joinery elements that soften the appearance of the space and distinguish it from the predominantly white finishes used throughout the terminal.  Vertical battening and signage delineate the three main zones of the kiosk which offer varied levels of self-service and seating options, with storage cleverly integrated throughout.

The booth is located within the Arrivals hall and will provide an excellent touchpoint for visitors and locals alike to make the most of what Canberra and the surrounding region has to offer.
