AMC have undertaken a number of DHA’s more significant projects in in the ACT, NSW and Victoria including the Clarence Jefferies Estate in Adamstown, RMC Duntroon in Canberra, Puckapunyal in Victoria and Dawes Estate and HMAS Harman in Queanbeyan totaling more than 200 dwellings at a total cost of more than $70m. AMC were involved in initial feasibility analysis and masterplanning of these various subdivisions and in the development of an extensive portfolio of detached dwellings and townhouse designs. AMC played a significant role with Parliamentary Works Committee approval required with most of these projects and in the development of DHA Classification criteria. Dwelling designs needed to meet strict energy targets and Defence requirements while being attractive to the investor market. Dwellings have efficient planning, maximise northern solar access, minimise wasted corridor and circulation space, achieve an easy connection between internal and external living areas, ensure minimal long term maintenance requirements and have an attractive streetscape presentation.
