Client: Department of Social Services
The Department of Social Services (DSS) engaged AMC in mid-2017 to design new fitout and targeted refurbishment works over 6,415m2 spread across four levels within Aviation House, Woden. DSS’ main objectives for the project were to consolidate its operations within Aviation House and increase workstation densities to achieve PRODAC targets within a highly compressed program driven by strict lease end and relocation dates.
AMC introduced a number of versatile collaboration zones that could be divided or combined to accommodate a range of functions as well as dedicated staff locker areas to support DSS’ shift towards activity-based working. Refurbishment works included the demolition of offices, upgrades to existing breakouts, utility spaces, conversion of meeting rooms to offices and the compression of open plan work areas to accommodate increased workstation numbers across all levels. In addition to designing a contemporary and high quality fitout, AMC provided project management services to DSS, assisting in the planning, coordination, procurement and delivery of the project to achieve completion by mid-November 2017.
DSS has since engaged AMC to design and project manage its new fitout at Level 1, 121 Henry Street Penrith on behalf of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, due for completion in May 2018.
