Client: Macquarie Specialists
Macquarie Specialists approached AMC in 2013 to assist them design a new fitout for their specialist medical practice adjacent to the Jamison Centre in Macquarie. This new practice brings together a number of similarly aligned cardiologists offering a flexible space for them to provide outpatient services. The interior design concept succeeds in achieving an efficient and logical layout which met the client’s requirements for an effective functional flow. Clients are directed through from reception to the waiting area and then through the attending nurse to the consultation and finally to payment areas. The consulting rooms are simple and functional allowing them to readily meet the “hot desk” model. Use of plywood, stone, and targeted use of composite panels in the waiting areas creates a warm and calm but clinical setting which meets the client original brief of presenting a professional, but not opulent practice.
Macquarie Specialists (Canberra Medical Specialist) have been so engaged by AMC’s simple yet attractive finishes and fixtures palette with its distinctive and strong identity that they have chosen to carry the same concept forward as part of the practice’s branding in other locations.
