Client: Vikings Group
Date: March 2018
Following AMC’s successful delivery of targeted refurbishment projects within the Erindale Club (“Sideline” sports bar, TAB and administration offices) in 2014, the Vikings Group invited AMC to design and deliver the refurbishment of the remainder of the Club to improve amenity, functionality and overall commercial performance of the venue. Works included:
The new contemporary Club entry provides direct access to key facilities for Club patrons with the timber-clad awning acting as a strong focal point to the front façade of the building and providing shelter to patrons arriving and exiting the Club. Internal zones are defined by finishes selections that add character to each space and form a cohesive palette that is used throughout the Club with an emphasis on face brickwork, painted steelwork, leather fabrics, timber elements, exposed copper beer lines and tanks and leafy external dining areas. Reflective ceiling panels, state of the art AV and LED lighting add drama to the new Gaming Lounge and central gas fire places provide focal points within the members’ lounge area.
The refurbishment of approximately 70% of the 5,785sqm Club was a significant undertaking, particularly given latent conditions uncovered during construction that were a result of previous and undocumented extension works. AMC worked closely with the Vikings Group and Projex Building Group to stage the works appropriately to enable the Club to continue operations during construction.
AMC and Projex’s achievements with this project were recognised in the MBA Building Excellence Awards 2018, winning the award for “Commercial, Refurbishment or Alteration $1m – $5m”.
