An important transition will occur within AMC’s leadership team in the coming weeks. Alastair MacCallum, a Founding Director of AMC, has made the decision to resign from AMC as he reimagines the next stage of his career, taking effect from Friday 31 May 2024.

Together with Co-Founding Director, David Cook, Alastair’s dedication and commitment to AMC since its establishment in 2000 have been instrumental in shaping the company, now one of Canberra’s leading design practices with a team of 30 delivering a broad range and scale of projects in the ACT, Regional NSW and across Australia. As the practice has grown the Director group has evolved accordingly, comprising 6 motivated individuals that bring the requisite skills, business acumen and extensive industry experience to lead AMC’s talented team and drive successful project and business outcomes.

Alastair’s charismatic leadership style has played an important part in the development of AMC’s culture which encourages collaboration, nurtures creativity and challenges the status quo to drive successful outcomes for our clients and the professional development of our team members. Alongside Dean McPherson and Craig Perrott, Alastair has led the design and strategic delivery of a broad range of high-quality architectural projects across multiple sectors, complemented by his active participation in the property industry.

We admire Alastair’s contribution to the practice during his time with AMC and respect his decision to pursue other endeavours. Our leadership team has been actively preparing and implementing a considered succession plan to facilitate a smooth transition for AMC and Alastair, ensuring the high quality of our services are maintained and strong industry relationships are sustained.

We look forward to working with you as AMC enters the next stage of its evolution under the skilled guidance of our Director group comprising David Cook, Dean McPherson, Luke Stanton, Hannah-Jean Cadan and Craig Perrott and supported by our Project Leaders, Chloe Meagher and Jermaine Chau.

Please join us in wishing Alastair every success for his future endeavours.
