This complex, high security facility required a considered and coordinated approach to the design and construction of the building envelope and internal spaces.  

AMC formed a key part of LendLease’s successful bid for the Design & Construct contract for a new purpose-built secure technical facility for a key Defence Contractor in ACT, owing to our track record of successfully delivering new commercial, special-purpose buildings for private sector, institutional and government clients and specialisation in projects with high security overlays.  AMC was engaged to review, develop and refine the existing design and Development Application documentation (previously prepared by DNA Architects), progress base building and integrated fitout documentation suitable for building approval, Tender and Construction and provide construction services during the delivery phase of the project.

The new building accommodates a range of functions including technical work areas, dedicated manufacturing spaces, test facilities, design laboratories and corporate areas.  Due to the nature of its operations, a key focus was security (physical, acoustic and visual) requiring a considered and coordinated approach to the design and construction of the building envelope and internal spaces.  Security of information was therefore critical during the design, documentation and delivery phases requiring all team members to undertake security checks and clearances and project information developed and managed in accordance with  Project requirements.  With an additional focus on supply chain security, AMC also worked closely with LendLease to scrutinise the sourcing of project materials to mitigate procurement risks throughout the project.  This significant and complex project was completed in November 2022.
