Villaggio Sant’ Antonio (VSA) is a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) located in Page, ACT within a heritage listed facility designed by renowned Architect, Antonio Taglietti.  AMC was tasked with designing a new extension and targeted refurbishment works to meet the changing needs of the organisation and increased resident numbers. AMC’s architectural and interior design teams worked closely throughout the project, consulting with residents and VSA staff to prepare an integrated scheme that responds sympathetically to the existing Taglietti-designed facility with careful thought given to creating legible and attractive living and communal spaces for residents. The works saw the addition of 29 new Residential Aged Care units and associated support areas in a new wing plus targeted refurbishment works throughout the existing RACF building and a new multi-purpose Activities Room. All resident rooms benefit from private courtyards with outlooks to thoughtfully designed landscaped gardens that promote sensory engagement and interaction. The new amenities and resident accommodation is a wonderful result for the multi-cultural VSA community, particularly given the recent challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic for aged care facilities.
