Following the successful completion of the DSS fitout and refurbishment works in Woden in 2017, DSS engaged AMC to design and project manage a new fitout in Penrith on behalf of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Quality and Safeguards Commission.  The Commission’s brand and image was an important consideration in the design process to not only reflect the organisation’s image and culture but also be consistent with DSS’ fitout design guidelines. The result is a sophisticated palette of timber, leather and soft furnishings to breakout, reception and causal collaboration spaces. Timber screening and greenery soften open plan work areas with patterned glazing decal and coloured elements adding interest to corridors and office fronts.  AMC worked closely with the client from the outset of the project to confirm the program and select a suitable procurement method for the building works to achieve completion prior to the initiation of the Commission’s operations in July 2018.  AMC and appointed contractor Shape, successfully delivered the project within this highly compressed program achieving a high quality result for the Commission and setting the standard for smaller state and territory offices to follow.
