Monash Green is an impressive senior’s living environment developed and constructed over a 7 year period.

AMC’s vision for this development included an integrated masterplan layout designed to create a positive and active community environment on the 7.9ha brown-field site and a seamless connection to the original village. Underpinning this were a number of holistic, simple and effective environmental initiatives which have benefited residents and Goodwin alike. Key elements of the masterplan concept include a comprehensive pedestrian path network and associated themed garden areas creating easy linkages across the combined sites and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle and the damming of a dividing floodway between the original and new villages to create a lake of significant size – a new focal point for Monash Green.

New co-located village community facilities include a well-equipped lifestyle clubhouse, pitch & putt golf course, bowling green, café, hairdresser and numerous other community services in the new enlarged village. To facilitate ageing in place, every dwelling is fully adaptable while also benefiting from excellent northern solar aspect. The adoption of new technology has also allowed different levels of resident support, ensuring the long-term health and dignity of all. The architectural language of the development includes variety in the built form and a juxtaposition of traditional pitched, flighty skillion and simple parapet roofs combined with a consistent materials palette to create a village environment that residents are proud of. David Harper House is a two storey residential aged care facility providing 120 aged care beds, common and administrative areas. It benefits from an excellent outlook and northern aspect and features attractive and secure garden areas. The Clubhouse is at the symbolic heart of Monash Green in total offering a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The 150 villa units are comprised of 8 dwelling types offering genuine variety in terms of planning arrangements and sizes yet still integrated by 3 roof forms and a consistent colour palette.
